In class writing

yesterday what we did in class was perform three different skits. All three were about Romeo and Juliet. The first group which I was in we had 1 minute to make up a our skit. We decided to make one person be the narrator (which was me) and one person was going to be Juliet (and we were going to highlight her in the whole play) and the third person was going to play multiple characters. We started off by trying to capture all the scenes of Romeo and Juliet but that didn't end up working so we split it up into the conflict of Romeo and Juliet, the romance, and then the tragedy. We felt like these three things were the most important in making the skit for someone who has never heard of Romeo and Juliet to get the concept of the play. The second group had 2 minutes to perform their peace, and what they did was basically open up at the party scene of Romeo and Juliet. They highlighted mostly the romance, and how quickly the two fell in love with each other, then the tragedy, and how qu...
The frantic assembly is a theatre company that consist of youth. They travel all around the world to perform different plays and performances of different interpretations. These plays are made for the younger youth audience to watch and interpreted. For example the play othello which is a traditional Shakespearean is made for an audience of 14 plus. This company is also a very relaxing setting and they don't necessarily wear traditional costumes or many props but they are very good actors and interpretators https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gUqZPfGIX6U
My experience so far with doing these two monologues was very exciting yet nerve racking. It was pretty easy for me to memorize me lines and study the text and film to know how to act in my monologue but it was hard to stay in character the whole way and follow along with the script because I was so nervous. I created the character by using depression for rose and showing emotion by looking depressed and hurt because rose was really hurt by try's actions and she also was angered and depressed but I chose to use her depressed side more then her anger because I felt that the anger was all a result of how she truly felt which was hurt. What I felt I did well was stay in character the whole way and portray what I wanted to portray. What I think I can improve on is being more sentimental and louder. I also could have improved on memorizing my lines fluently so that I wasn't shaken up. I learned that it's hard to completely reenactment a character and their emotions so you have ...
Monologue: I done tried to be everything a wife should be. Everything a wife could be. Been married eighteen years and I got to live to see the day you tell me you been seeing another women and done fathered a child by her. And you know I Ain't  never wanted no half nothing in my life.everybody got different fathers and mothers….. My two sisters and my brother. Can't hardly tell who's who. Can't never sit down and talk about papa and mama it's your papa and your mama, and my pops and my mother.  Rose character : Rose is a humble and a very realistic woman. She is a mother.  She has high hopes for her family and wants to see her people succeed. she is also very selfless and compassionate. Emotion : You can tell by this monologue that she is very stressed and overwhelmed. She's wants some type of leeway, or stress releaser. She says she “has tried to be everything a wife should be” which means that she has been mistreated and it hurt her b...
Play review: The romeo and juliet play at the park was very interesting. We were all laid out comfortably on blankets on the grass. The play started at 8:00. It was the original shakespeare play but with a twist. It started off with the scene in the village, and then went into a scene with juliet and her mother . In between the scenes they played more modern day music which i thought was entertaining because it gave the play more of a modern feel. During the play there was singing a little through out but it was mostly a straight play. The costumes that the characters in the play wore were accurate to the time period of romeo and juliet. There was a scene in the play where they foreshadowed the death of juliet when she wore a white robe that both tybalt and mercutio wore when they died. Because the play was a romance tragedy, there were two or three scenes where romeo and juliet kissed. In the play they danced a lot as well, but to keep the play a little modern the actors were danci...
I recall when I was about 6 years old and I took my first ballet class. I loved it I had on a little too too and my ballet shoes, but I also had on ballet stockings that had like 10 holes in them. And I was probably the most jacked 6 year old girl in the room. I also remember my first dance recital. Go onto the stage and smiling knowing I didn't remeber not one dance move. Obviously realizing that ballet probably wasn't for me, my dad took me to my first basketball practice. I walking in the gym just to see nothing but 8 and 9 year old boys, and to think that I was supposed to play with them?  I left that practice with a missing tooth, and a black eye, and had to take the team picture afterwards. I though my dad was setting me up but taking me to that practice was the best thing my father could have ever done for me, it showed me how competitive I am, and how drivin I was to be great, and ever since then I haven't quit and I am still working to fufill my dreams of being a c...
