For the interpretation of the glass menagerie we decided to focus on the ending scene of the play which is the part when Jim and Amanda have a conversation about how he has a spouse, and can not come back to see the family. This scene then goes into the a scene between tom and Amanda that leads to tom leaving because he cannot take the judgement from his mother. The character that I am playing will be Amanda. Who is a over the top, rambunctious character, who can be sort of annoying at times.  Her emotions and feelings of stress, depression, and anxiety from her husband leaving her rubs off on her children a lot in the play. For me playing her character I will have to be loud and very outgoing. She is a vocal character that is not shy to say her opinion and is very unsympathetic. I think this will be a little bit of a challenged for me because I am not that outgoing as a person so I will have to be very loud and high pitched to play her character. I am interested in focusing on the way Jim treats Laura and his effects onnLaura romantically. I also want to play Jim to show how he was outgoing and was liked so much by lsura.
