what I need to work on vs. what I don't

some things that I knew well was the parts of the stage such as down stage left, right center stage etc. which is the places that actors and actresses are on stage. something else that I don't need to work on was the type of stages like the thrust stage, theater in the round, black box, and proscenium stage. the theater in the round. one other thing  that I don't need to review are scenes and acts. they are the parts of a play. acts are divided into scenes and scenes are like quarters in a basketball game. some things that I need to work on were the acting terms (blocking, movement etc.) within the play and the set pieces vs. props I think I might have mixed up the two in the case of the bed on the quiz I wasn't sure between set piece and prop the difference now I know that it is a set piece because it can not be carried by the actors or moved around easily.

reflection on verbatim theater

Reflect on your experience last week exploring Verbatim Theater. Why do you think people do it? What does it accomplish? What was your experience like (and your group's experience)? Was the process difficult? And if so, how so? Were any aspects easier than others? Did you enjoy it? Why or why not? What did you learn? My experience last week exploring verbatim theater was very interesting and fun. I enjoyed making the lines for Ivan because of the way that he speaks and adding different phrases that he says. Ivan uses a lot of words like " you know what I'm sayin" and bruh, baby, or wowwww. adding those phrases to the lines that me and jasmine made for Jacob and Purdy was exciting because we knew that that was how he really talks in real life and it brought more character to the performance. I think people do that to further express the character you are trying to portray, and really make it seem like the character and in order to...

what is theater blog

In my opinion theater is the production of people portraying a  story or place in time. there are so many aspects to theater like the lighting, staging, directions and q's but in a more simpler way it is just displaying a message that contains an actor or actors. I appreciate theater when it is realistic and the characters are 100 percent committed to their character. when a theater performance makes you feel that real emotion or even humor it draws you in and is very entertaining. I have seen a few theater plays live and the most fascinating part of it all really is to see the actors and actresses in full character, and this includes makeup, customer, and even props. they all can change the feeling of a play completely. when the stage looks like a real life place and the actor looks perfectly in tone with the scene it feels so much more real, for example when I seen kinky boots and all the men were completely in ch...
