1st draft

In the play The Glass Menagerie  I choose to play the role of Amanda.  She doesn't believe that the circumstances in her life will change after the transition from talking to Jim and from talking to tom. After Amanda and toms conversation Tom  leaves because he has had enough of the disrespect and the passive behavior Amanda has been having.  Her character has reckless emotions and she takes her anger out where it is most important not to. In the play I chose to portray her character as a strong willed women who was hopeless, because while ready the book that is how I seen her character fit best. While asking myself Uta Hagen’s nine questions I found it easier for myself to grasp the role of Amanda. Starting off in the first scene of the play my group decided to do a monologue of Jim outlining the reasoning of his appearance. Jim described the way that he has strings on him and that he is in love with a girl named Betty. This allows the audience to know that t...

reflection on final

I think I individually did a good job on my groups final scene. we decided to choose a very emotional part of the play and so we really had to bring it with the emotion. I think we all did a good job remembering our lines. we did at times forget our lines and slip up. there was one time in the play where I said "you work night too" instead of "oh that’s so ambitious you work nights too" so I throw off nan a little bit when it was time for her to reply because she remembered it as my original lines. that was a noticeable mistake that we made as a group, because of the fact that we could have recovered from that better. another time I felt like I slipped up with my lines was while I was arguing to David and I skipped a part in my lines. this happened because I was trying to talk too fast and I wasn’t thinking about my lines while I was talking, I was trying to get in character. though these things did happen I think as a whole we didn't do a p...

Feed back overview

For my first draft of the glass menagerie my role was of Amanda. Amanda is very spontaneous and loud and Obnoxious. So when you’re playing the role of Amanda you have to be very out of your character. For me I’m very relaxed and calm so I have to step out of my comfort zone to play the role of Amanda. This scene that my group chose to do what is the fighting scene at the end with Tom and Amanda and the talking scene between Jim and Amanda. Some feedback that I got for my first draft was that I did a good job staying focused on my character, being realistic with the way that I was acting, also I did a good job at my voice and the way that I pronounced my words and the speed of my pronunciation. For the role of Amanda I understood her character very well and I played a role as I seen it fit best for me. Some critiques that I got on the first draft was to show more emotion when I am acting out Amanda and being very powerful with my emotion when I am experiencing Amanda‘s character. Another...
