Feed back overview
For my first draft of the glass menagerie my role was of Amanda. Amanda is very spontaneous and loud and Obnoxious. So when you’re playing the role of Amanda you have to be very out of your character. For me I’m very relaxed and calm so I have to step out of my comfort zone to play the role of Amanda. This scene that my group chose to do what is the fighting scene at the end with Tom and Amanda and the talking scene between Jim and Amanda. Some feedback that I got for my first draft was that I did a good job staying focused on my character, being realistic with the way that I was acting, also I did a good job at my voice and the way that I pronounced my words and the speed of my pronunciation. For the role of Amanda I understood her character very well and I played a role as I seen it fit best for me. Some critiques that I got on the first draft was to show more emotion when I am acting out Amanda and being very powerful with my emotion when I am experiencing Amanda‘s character. Another feedback that I got was to use more blocking and make use of the entire stage and use more movement while I’m speaking in seeing my lines and show emotion through my movement as well. Something that Meyerhold was very profound of was using movement and symbolism while portraying a character. I can use his method of movement to help me Better the way that I move on stage and correctly impersonate my character. Another theater legend that helped I can use while playing my character is the Stanislavski method. His message was all about authentic emotion and the feeling in your own life and how you can use method acting in that way. I was towed in my first draft that I needed to show little more emotion so I can take advantage of the way that he introduced his ways of acting.
