Memorization poem

I am lightning https://hellopoetry.com/Ky-blackstar/ Ky blackstar  I find peace in lightning So strong and powerful yet naturally beautiful It has such ability to kill yet its surges of electricity  keep us alive With bright trails of intense light it taunts us Reminding us of its presence So bright, so stern yet as breathtakingly gorgeous as  a delicate flower  I relate to lightning as another may relate to fictional  being, though my connection is quite real

Poem blog post

The poem that I chose was the pool players. Seven at the Golden shovel. This poem uses a lot of slang words that are repeated such as we. I think that the writer uses these words to make the reader in the audience know that teenagers are  immature.  This poem was to attract younger people  and a younger audience that can relate. For example in the Powm when it says we real cool. Like a slang word or frase that younge people use. The writer used alliteration when they said lurk late and strike straight. The two l’s and s’s to make a sound that is attractive to say. This poem almost shows how teenagers approach adulthood and their daily lifestyles. Another point where alliteration was used was what the writer says Jazz June. I think this means like summer break or when teenagers get out of college or school for the summer months. After that thy say and we die soon. This means their teenage years are going to die off and they live their lives in the moment basically like you...

This is just to say

The words that stick out to me with the sound are words like plums, icebox, delicious, sweet, and cold. I think mainly because they are feeling words and the writer probably wanted he reader to feel the words. Also in the beginning the first stanza of the poem when the writer says the plums that were in the icebox had stuck out to me because of the T sounds that I got from the poem. Also the last stanza when the writer says so sweet and so cold. The so was repeated twice to emphasize the amount of sweetness and coldness. Also the s sounds. The meaning of the poem is that whomever has eaten the plums did because of temptation and the writer is trying to have he reader feel that temptation. They didn’t really want to eat them I’m assuming but get were really hungry and they want whomever those plums were to understand the reasoning behind it. They also want to be forgiven for what they did. Some images that come to my head is like a cooler of some sort with plums in there. Only he plum...
