My experience so far with doing these two monologues was very exciting yet nerve racking. It was pretty easy for me to memorize me lines and study the text and film to know how to act in my monologue but it was hard to stay in character the whole way and follow along with the script because I was so nervous. I created the character by using depression for rose and showing emotion by looking depressed and hurt because rose was really hurt by try's actions and she also was angered and depressed but I chose to use her depressed side more then her anger because I felt that the anger was all a result of how she truly felt which was hurt. What I felt I did well was stay in character the whole way and portray what I wanted to portray. What I think I can improve on is being more sentimental and louder. I also could have improved on memorizing my lines fluently so that I wasn't shaken up. I learned that it's hard to completely reenactment a character and their emotions so you have to put it in your own way. What I seen in my peers monologues was that some people gave a lot of emotion which made it better, and some people were very realistic which strengthened their monologues. Something else that I realized was that the voice of the character and the intonation that you give while performing is a good idea and it draws the audience in. Next time I preform I will try to add as many of the good things I seen in everyone's performance to make mine better.
