adaptation proposal

1. what story or stories
- children of the sea & between the pool and the gardenias
2. why will it be interesting
- it will be interesting because i will combine Celienne and Marie's characters as one character. it will explain that she was on the boat and had a still born baby and threw it over board and relate that to why she is just in love with the dead baby that she sees on the ground in the street, and further relate these two stories.
3. Characters list
- Celianne/ Marie
- Pool cleaner
4. Directors vision
- The setting will take place during the pool and the gardenias and will briefly go back to explain the situation of her miscarriage to the pool cleaner
-Celianne will be her real name but she is called Marie so that she is not remembered as Celianne
- I want the audience to understand the connection between children of the sea and between the pool and the gardenias.
- Explain the reasoning for using a dead baby as a real one or a doll to carry around
- Explain how there is an emotional connection between her picking up the baby (might look just like her child of the sea).
- The focus will be on recreating a story about a woman who never had a living child of her own and wants to be able to feel that love and affection that comes with having a baby.
5. What aspects of the text/ literary analysis will you be hoping to highlight?
- I will be hoping to highlight the reasoning for Marie's decision and why she was so fond of getting rid of the baby. this is because she is traumatized by her past experience that no one knows about because she changed her name.
- Also in children of the sea Celianne is 15 and so she can explain that when she was 15 she cut her face with razors to become unrecognizable , and now she changed her name because they had healed.
- The pool cleaner will be the only one that knows about the story and ends up telling the police who she really is after telling them about the baby that she had buried.
