- the narrator is from brooklyn new york and her mother
-she works in new york and while she is walking on her lunch break she sees her in the street and chooses to follow her
-she said she never seen her mother shopping outside of brooklyn before
- firs she was peering into chanel and tiffany's
- she said when she seen her that morning she was in her bathrob and had curlers in her hair mad out of newspaper
-it goes back and forth between quotes from her mother and herself explaining the day
- there was a quote from her mother talking out how she bets she doesn't give up her seat for an old woman on the subway or a pregnant women.
- the narrator said her mother is usually right she usually doesn't and that sometimes she does the same saying also ends the chapter
-she talks about the new york city road rage and how a taxi driver said "'what do you think this is a dance floor'"
- and her mother quote comes in about how in haiti they yell or have road rage after hitting someone for being in the road and getting blood on their bumper
- her mother peels skin off her chicken and doesnt eat american food
- her daughter finds out that her mother is a nanny
- doesnt go to parent teacher confrences because of shame.
-asshamed of her job and her culture, doesnt have much education, dosnt have nice clother so she hasnt gotten what she need .
- mother has been raising child her whold life probably
- the child knows mother very well and is comfortable with the mother, and says its like "lookng up at the sky.
-mother doesn't have a name and this represents her identity
- asshamed of having to take care of some other women kids, don't make much money and so she has to be a nany to make enough money to support them

This is just to say

The words that stick out to me with the sound are words like plums, icebox, delicious, sweet, and cold. I think mainly because they are feeling words and the writer probably wanted he reader to feel the words. Also in the beginning the first stanza of the poem when the writer says the plums that were in the icebox had stuck out to me because of the T sounds that I got from the poem. Also the last stanza when the writer says so sweet and so cold. The so was repeated twice to emphasize the amount of sweetness and coldness. Also the s sounds. The meaning of the poem is that whomever has eaten the plums did because of temptation and the writer is trying to have he reader feel that temptation. They didn’t really want to eat them I’m assuming but get were really hungry and they want whomever those plums were to understand the reasoning behind it. Play review: The romeo and juliet play at the park was very interesting. We were all laid out comfortably on blankets on the grass. The play started at 8:00. It was the original shakespeare play but with a twist. It started off with the scene in the village, and then went into a scene with juliet and her mother . In between the scenes they played more modern day music which i thought was entertaining because it gave the play more of a modern feel. During the play there was singing a little through out but it was mostly a straight play. The costumes that the characters in the play wore were accurate to the time period of romeo and juliet. There was a scene in the play where they foreshadowed the death of juliet when she wore a white robe that both tybalt and mercutio wore when they died. Because the play was a romance tragedy, there were two or three scenes where romeo and juliet kissed.
