les miserables




 the movie les miserables was very exciting and different. it was a musical movie and it also had alot of conflict. you can also see the change in the main character throughout the movie as well. the movie takes place in france in the 1800. jean valjean is a convict who is released from prison from the prison gaurd (javert)after serving 19 years for stealing a loaf of bread from a market. the movie starts off in the prison camp. he was viewed as a die hard criminal when he was not a murderer or a killer he only stole bread. after a couple of months of being homeless and hungry the bishop offered jean shelter and food. he takes the bishops offer. then jean steals from the bishop. which you would think wouldnt make sense because the bishop is only looking out for jean. he takes silver from him during the night. jean goes on the run from the athorities but soon gets caught. the bishops sticks up for jean and says it was a gift. which he didnt need to do. but he was very caring and generous. valjean says that he will start a new very honest lifestyle because of what the bishop had done for him. valjean was starting to change into a better man and do things the right way except he didnt follow one rule and that was to follow the orders of the parole which he was still on. he never showed up when he needed to, and that was a fellony. the prison gaurd javert was looking for valjean. for almost 8 years trying to find him because he didnt complete his orders. but by that time he had already been the mayor and he was a good mayor as well. he was being productive with his life and the things that he was doing. because he was such a powerful person and he was doing well with his life javert had no idea that that was him. when he found out he started to go after him. a women had a daughter named cosette and she was very poor and so valjean agreed to take cosette after she died and take care of her. valjean keeps his promise and when he hears of her death he goes and looks after cosette. valjean raises cosette as his own daughter and he loves her as if he birthed her. valjean shows how much he really loves her and cares for her. this is different from the way that he initially acted in the beginnin g of the movie when he was stealing. you can espechially tell that jean is changed because he didnt know how to feel when cosette meet marcus. he didnt want cosette to get hurt or anything to happen to her becuase of him. jean's faith is very strong especially because of the way the bishop looked out for him. so he tells cosette that she could love whoever she wants to love and that he will support her in her decisions. valjean's character is now a loving caring person for example later javert is captured by the soldiers and valjean had the opportunity to kill him right then and there. javert himself believed that his life was going to be spared. javert had tortured valjean for all those years in prison and then went on the hunt looking for him to report him to the government. the right thing to do would be to kill him for all of the trouble that he brung him, but he decided not to kill him because he realized that the same way the bishop was kind enough to forgive him for his wrong doings is the same way he can forgive javert for his. marcus is in the war and gets badely injured. valjean practicully saved him and takes him down the sewer line to javert who is on the other side. when they get there javert says if they come any closer he will shoot. valjean isnt afraid of getting shot so he continues to walk and he doesnt shoot he instead kills himself by jumping off of the bridge. he does this because he feels bad for everything that he put him through. valjean then tells marcus that he could marry cosette and he had his blessing of marrage. valjean then tells the truth of himself to marcus and his past, and tells him to tell cosette that he is going to an adventure. cosette finds her father at the church that he was let out at. there was were he died. but before he died he gave her a letter that was about his life and everything that he went through. cosette finds out that valjean saved marcus's life and how good of a person he was even though he was so strict on her. he felt like his life was complete just because he did everything that he felt he needed to to change his life around and he was able to die in peace. this movie was a good movie because it had a lot of different plot changes and alot of things happened that were unexpected. also the lessons that came with the movie were very powerful and life changing. they showed how a person can be one way and how their life can change drastically. with one simple act of kindness can change the way someone lives and can change the way they behave for the rest of their lives. valjean went from stealing and being a selfish person to being a loving caring person and father. he took in cosette, raised her well, he let javert go even when he could have killed him, he saved marcus's life when he could have ended his own in the process, and he was able to let cosette know that he was fond of her marrying marcus and he agreed on the relationship. valjean was able to accomplish a lot in his lifetime through adversity. not to mention he turned his life around in 8 years to become the mayor of the town. his actions in the movie alone teaches the audience to never give up when bad times happen, and also to forgive and forget, and dont let one situation bring you or anyone else down.

This is just to say

The words that stick out to me with the sound are words like plums, icebox, delicious, sweet, and cold. I think mainly because they are feeling words and the writer probably wanted he reader to feel the words. Also in the beginning the first stanza of the poem when the writer says the plums that were in the icebox had stuck out to me because of the T sounds that I got from the poem. Also the last stanza when the writer says so sweet and so cold. The so was repeated twice to emphasize the amount of sweetness and coldness. Also the s sounds. The meaning of the poem is that whomever has eaten the plums did because of temptation and the writer is trying to have he reader feel that temptation. They didn’t really want to eat them I’m assuming but get were really hungry and they want whomever those plums were to understand the reasoning behind it. Play review: The romeo and juliet play at the park was very interesting. We were all laid out comfortably on blankets on the grass. The play started at 8:00. It was the original shakespeare play but with a twist. It started off with the scene in the village, and then went into a scene with juliet and her mother . In between the scenes they played more modern day music which i thought was entertaining because it gave the play more of a modern feel. During the play there was singing a little through out but it was mostly a straight play. The costumes that the characters in the play wore were accurate to the time period of romeo and juliet. There was a scene in the play where they foreshadowed the death of juliet when she wore a white robe that both tybalt and mercutio wore when they died. Because the play was a romance tragedy, there were two or three scenes where romeo and juliet kissed.
