                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          In english class the objective was to find 10 characters from Romeo and Juliet that we would choose to be the cast of the play in a black box theatre. this means each character has on all black and the theatre is all black as well. the main focus was on the characters and the object that you choose each character to possess. each character was allowed to have one thing. which meant they can hold or wear one object that represented themselves, and portrayed themselves. in my group we came up with ten different characters and ten different objects that they had. the characters are Romeo, Juliet, Tybalt , Mercutio , lady capulet, lord capulet, Friar Lawrence, the prince, the nurse, and Paris. we chose Romeo and Juliet, because they are the main characters in the story and we decided to give Romeo a rose that symbolized passionate love and romance. we gave Juliet a wedding ring to symbolize love and commitment, also confinement. next we chose Tybalt and Mercutio because they represent the overall fued of the story, and by having them it is easier to tell the story of the feud and the hatred between Montague and capulet. Tybalt was given a black sword because he always wanted to fight and the was very argumentative and defencive. we gave Mercutio a sword as well but we made the sword yellow so look less violent but it is still a sword so it can be used. the next two people we picked was the capulet parents. we picked them because they are the boundary for Juliet, and they are overprotective and they are the reason that Romeo and Juliet are not together. plus they both have a husband for Juliet to marry and they think he is a good gentleman. we gave lady capulet high heels to show where she wants to be, which is taller and more higher up and have more power, also she is very full of herself and she is really involved with being flashy. it shows her wealthiness and her status. lord capulet has a 100k pinky ring. this also shows his wealth, but it mostly shows his power. he is the man of the house he gets what he wants and he does what he wants. he has power and he makes the decisions.  Friar Lawrence and the nurse were chosen because they were secretly for Romeo and Juliet's marriage. they wanted them to be happy and be happy together. but they didn't show it. friar Lawrence married Romeo and Juliet. the nurse had Juliet's side and kept it a secret from the parents and so they were an intrical part of the play. the prince was chosen because he was the peacemaker and if everyone listened to the prince and got along, the tragedy would have never happened but they didn't. the prince was royalty and he had power over both of the capulets and the Montague's.  so for him we gave him a crown to show that he is the head of Verona and he has the most power. the last person we used was Paris. we chose Paris because Paris was the person that Juliet's parents wanted Juliet to marry and he also came in between Juliet and Romeo's marriage and made it harder for Juliet. he was placed in the play to help with the conflict and show that she has another person that hr family wants to have her heart. that is "a perfect man" this shows that Juliet really loves Romeo because Paris is a superior man and she doesn't want him. he gave him a mirror to resemble his perfectness and how he is a "perfect man" for Juliet. This is just to say

The words that stick out to me with the sound are words like plums, icebox, delicious, sweet, and cold. I think mainly because they are feeling words and the writer probably wanted he reader to feel the words. Also in the beginning the first stanza of the poem when the writer says the plums that were in the icebox had stuck out to me because of the T sounds that I got from the poem. Also the last stanza when the writer says so sweet and so cold. The so was repeated twice to emphasize the amount of sweetness and coldness. Also the s sounds. The meaning of the poem is that whomever has eaten the plums did because of temptation and the writer is trying to have he reader feel that temptation. They didn’t really want to eat them I’m assuming but get were really hungry and they want whomever those plums were to understand the reasoning behind it. Play review: The romeo and juliet play at the park was very interesting. We were all laid out comfortably on blankets on the grass. The play started at 8:00. It was the original shakespeare play but with a twist. It started off with the scene in the village, and then went into a scene with juliet and her mother . In between the scenes they played more modern day music which i thought was entertaining because it gave the play more of a modern feel. During the play there was singing a little through out but it was mostly a straight play. The costumes that the characters in the play wore were accurate to the time period of romeo and juliet. There was a scene in the play where they foreshadowed the death of juliet when she wore a white robe that both tybalt and mercutio wore when they died. Because the play was a romance tragedy, there were two or three scenes where romeo and juliet kissed.
