I do agree with the statement that friar lawrence is a peacemaker. i think friar lawrence is a peace maker. friar lawrence is a priest and he is very wise. he understands the fued between bpth families, ahe also understands that the marrage of romeo and juliet would help the fued. he wants them both to be happy and you can tell that he doesnt agree with the fued, he only wants romeo and juliet to be happy. when romeo asked for him to marry him and juliet lines 57-81 friar lawrence was explaining that romeo was just in love with rosleine and he thinks he is moving really quickly to fall for another person, and he odesnt believe that he truely loves juliet. but he did tell romeo that he thought that juliet and his love can be strong enough to end the fued. "In one respect I’ll thy assistant be, for this alliance may so happy prove to turn your households' rancor to pure love." this means that friar lawrences intentions was to make peace not knowing that their deaths would be the cause of it. he tells romeo after he says he is in a rush which he always is that "Wisely and slow. They stumble that run fast." he is warning romeo to make the right decision and to not be immiture and too fast. all together frair lawrence is a good person and he cares about romeo and juliet, and he is only looking out for the best interest of romeo.
